Tomago Aluminium employees have proudly donated $17,500 to OzHarvest as part of its 2026 Workplace Giving Program, helping provide approximately 35,000 meals to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity across the Newcastle region.
The donation was made possible through the generosity of Tomago Aluminium employees, who contribute to the Workplace Giving Program through voluntary payroll donations. Tomago Aluminium also contributes to the program each year, helping maximise the impact of the funds raised for local charities.
Every dollar donated to OzHarvest helps deliver two meals, while the organisation’s iconic yellow vans rescue an average of 350 tonnes of quality surplus food each week. That food is redistributed through more than 1,500 charities, reducing food waste while supporting vulnerable families.
Rachel Shephard, Northern NSW Engagement Lead at OzHarvest, thanked Tomago Aluminium employees for their generosity.
“Thank you for such a generous donation. We are incredibly honoured to have been nominated by your wonderful staff as part of Tomago Aluminium’s 2026 Workplace Giving Program. This amazing contribution will help provide approximately 35,000 meals to families and individuals across the Newcastle community.”
Tomago Aluminium Communications Advisor Katie Burns said the Workplace Giving Program continues to demonstrate the positive impact employees can make together.
“Our Workplace Giving Program continues to demonstrate just how much of a difference we can make when we come together. Every donation made by our Workplace Giving members, combined with Tomago Aluminium’s contribution, helps support organisations that provide vital services to people in our community. We are incredibly proud of the generosity our workforce continues to show year after year.”
The OzHarvest donation forms part of the $150,000 raised through Tomago Aluminium’s 2026 Workplace Giving Program. Last week, the company presented $80,000 to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, with further donations to be presented to Our Circle Maitland, Hunter Animal Rescue and Charlie’s Run for Kids over the coming weeks.
Tomago Aluminium would like to thank all its Workplace Giving members for their continued generosity and commitment to supporting local communities.
