Last week, Tomago Aluminium attended two major local Career Expos to promote our business and showcase opportunities available through our 2027 Apprenticeship Program.

The Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Careers Expo, held at Newcastle Racecourse last Thursday, welcomed more than 4,000 students eager to explore future career pathways. The Hunter Valley Careers Expo followed on Friday at Maitland Basketball Stadium, attracting more than 2,000 students from schools across the Hunter region.

Tomago Aluminium joined more than 100 exhibitors, including leading local employers such as WesTrac, Ampcontrol and Glencore, alongside TAFE, universities, training providers and employment agencies.

The expos provided a valuable opportunity to connect directly with students, introduce them to the work we do at Tomago Aluminium and encourage applications for our 2027 Apprenticeship Program, which remains open until 31 May.

A big thank you to Nina Stewart, Sheree Dederer, Katie Burns, Matt Grainger and Hayley Summers for representing Tomago Aluminium across the two events. A special mention also goes to our apprentices Claire Ramplin-O’Hearn, Sienna Mullen, Jacob Van Groningen and Logan Cox, who did a fantastic job sharing their experiences, answering questions and giving students a genuine insight into life as an apprentice at Tomago Aluminium.

We have already seen a strong number of candidates apply and are looking forward to supporting the next generation of apprentices as they begin their careers.

If you know someone who may be interested in applying, please encourage them to visit our website for more information and to submit an application – Click here to apply.

Tomago Aluminium will also be attending the Hunter Region Apprenticeship Pathways Explorer this Tuesday at Maitland Town Hall, where we’ll continue connecting with students and parents and answering questions about the program.
