Tomago Aluminium was proud to recently welcome representatives from the East Maitland RSL Sub-Branch onsite for a cheque presentation following our ANZAC Day activities.

The cheque included a donation from Tomago Aluminium in recognition of the RSL’s contribution to our onsite ANZAC Services, as well as funds raised through the sale of poppies, pins and pens across site. The fundraising effort received strong support from our workforce, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting veterans and their families.

Representatives from the East Maitland RSL Sub-Branch thanked the Tomago workforce for their generosity and support, noting that the funds will help deliver important services and assistance to veterans and their families within the local community.

As part of the presentation, the RSL generously gifted Tomago a framed photograph of the Burton brothers, local Tomago men whose story featured prominently in this year’s ANZAC Services. The Burton brothers served during the First World War and their story provided a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by Australian servicemen and their families. The commemorative address delivered during our services highlighted the lives of the three brothers and their connection to the local area.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss plans for next year’s onsite ANZAC Services, which are already underway. Building on the success of this year’s event, Tomago plans to again hold both a Dawn Service and a Morning Service to provide employees and contractors with the opportunity to come together in remembrance and reflection.

We would like to thank the East Maitland RSL Sub-Branch for their support, partnership and ongoing commitment to preserving the ANZAC spirit within our community.

Lest we forget.
