Last week, Tomago Aluminium had the pleasure of donating $16,000 from our employee-led Workplace Giving Program to Dog Rescue Newcastle. This contribution is part of a larger effort, with over 72% of our employees actively participating in the program, and with the support of the business, we will be donating a total of $144,000 throughout June.
The total amount will be shared between the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and four other charities chosen by our workforce.
Senior HR Business Partner Josh Patterson, who nominated the charity, attended the cheque presentation alongside Communications Advisor Katie Burns and Learning and Development Business Partner Nicki Hopley. During their visit, they were given a tour of the facility and had the opportunity to meet the dogs awaiting their forever homes.
Marketing and Fundraising Manager Jesse Reinhard expressed his gratitude for the donation: “From everyone at Dog Rescue Newcastle, we say thank you to Tomago Aluminium for this very generous donation and thanks to Josh for nominating us. 100% of these funds will go directly towards the new housing unit onsite that will safely house up to 40 dogs rescued from local and regional pounds in the Hunter. Without the support of local businesses like you, our work wouldn’t be possible.”
