We were proud to bring our workforce together today to recognise ANZAC Day through two onsite services, providing an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country.
Held in response to feedback from our workforce, this marked the first time we have formally recognised ANZAC Day onsite.
The services were led by volunteers from the East Maitland RSL Sub-Branch and included a commemorative address sharing the story of three local brothers from Tomago who served in the First World War, adding a local connection to the occasion.
Following each service, attendees were invited to stay for a morning tea, which included a selection of home-cooked treats generously prepared by RSL volunteers. This provided an opportunity for people to connect and reflect together.
We would like to thank the East Maitland RSL Sub-Branch and acknowledge the contributions of those involved in delivering the service, including members of our workforce who participated in readings and ceremonial elements, as well as our People & Culture team and support teams who assisted with coordination and setup.
In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, poppies, pins and pens were made available onsite, with all proceeds supporting the Maitland RSL and the important work they do for veterans and their families. We will also be making a donation to the East Maitland RSL Sub-Branch in recognition of their ongoing contribution to the community.
It was a privilege to recognise ANZAC Day onsite, and we look forward to continuing this tradition in the future.
Lest we forget.
