Tomago Aluminium has once again shown its support for the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens, by supporting their Sustainable Recycling Program.

The Company helped to fund a state-of-the-art mulcher attachment for the Garden’s Caterpillar Skid Steer Loader. The new mulcher will enable the Gardens to use their green waste and return it to the soil, improving soil tilth, conserving water and reducing weed germination. The program will later be expanded to include mulching bays to house the large quantities of mulch used in the Gardens.

Thousands of plants will benefit from this environmental initiative and their 200 volunteers will experience a major reduction in manual handling.

Magali Gendre (Carbon Manager) and Ren’e Hart (Executive Assistant) attended the Garden last Monday to help launch the program along with other funding partners including Kate Washington MP, representing the NSW Government and Orica.

The Hunter Region Botanic Gardens expressed its sincere thanks to Tomago Aluminium for their ongoing and generous support.

“Thank you sincerely for your support of our Sustainable Recycling Project. You’ve been a strong supporter of the Gardens over the years and we couldn’t have asked for a better neighbour. Your continued financial contributions towards equipment and building works are also appreciated,” said, Robert Beautement, CEO of the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens.
