Last Thursday, Tomago Aluminium attended the First Nations Community & Career Expo, Deadly Futures, held at Newcastle City Hall.

The event welcomed First Nations young people and community members, creating a valuable forum for connection, conversation and opportunity. The expo brought together a range of organisations and employers, providing attendees with the chance to engage in face-to-face discussions to better understand who we are, what we do, and the career pathways available at Tomago .

Throughout the day, Nina Stewart, Tomago Aluminium’s Talent Acquisition Manager, was on hand to answer questions about current vacancies, apprenticeships and future employment opportunities. She was supported by Sheree Dederer, People & Culture Coordinator, along with a number of Tomago Aluminium employees who volunteered their time to speak with attendees. These conversations provided practical insights into career pathways across our operations and what a career at Tomago can look like.

Events like this play an important role in strengthening connections within our community. They enable us to showcase our brand, reinforce our long-term commitment to growth in the region, and actively engage with First Nations young people as they explore their future career pathways.
