Today, Tomago Aluminium employees gathered in our Fire Shed to mark R U OK? Day with a ‘Speak Up, Speak Out’ session. The event was hosted by Clinical Psychologist and Director of NewPsych, Taryna Davis, with special guest Scott Mackenzie from Mates in Manufacturing.

The heart of this session was the brave stories shared by some of our colleagues: Darren Robertson (PTA Fitter), Brad Hughes (Asset Manager), Jess Sheehan (Occupational Health Officer), and Phil Carpenter (Environment Operator). Their stories highlighted the importance of acknowledging that mental health affects us all and that seeking help is a courageous step.

We extend our sincere thanks to Darren, Brad, Jess, and Phil for their openness and for reminding us that it’s okay to ask for help.

At Tomago, we’re committed to creating a supportive workplace. We offer resources like our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with Converge International, providing free counselling 24/7 for employees and their families, as well as our Peer 2 Peer network.

Together, we’ll continue to foster a culture where mental health is openly discussed and supported at Tomago.
