The fourth recipient of this year’s Tomago Aluminium Workplace Giving Program is Jenny’s Place, a vital local service supporting women and children affected by domestic and family violence.

Yesterday, Freya Franklin (Manager, Technical & BI) and Katie Burns (Communications Advisor) visited the team at Jenny’s Place to present a $17,500 cheque, made possible by the generosity of our employees and the business.

The team at Jenny’s Place shared how the funds will directly contribute to delivering crisis accommodation, case management, counselling, and support for women and children seeking safety and a fresh start.

“We are immensely grateful for the continuing support of the Tomago Aluminium team and extend our heartfelt thanks for your contribution to our service and our community,” said Nicole Morwitch (Communications and Engagement Specialist).

“For almost half a century Jenny’s Place has delivered a range of intensive support programs for women and children impacted by domestic and family violence (DFV) and homelessness in Newcastle. The generous funding provided by Tomago Aluminium provides us an opportunity to centralise our service streams and create a custom designed therapy space that incorporates innovative trauma informed design principles. This client centred design will provide a safe, warm and welcoming space where mothers and children can feel at home and draw on the expertise of our specialist casework, mental health and trauma recovery teams.”

This marks the final of four major donations through our Workplace Giving Program, which has raised a total of $150,000 over the past 12 months. Previous recipients include the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation, Hunter Wildlife Rescue, and Soul Hub—each one supporting a different area of need within our community.

Our final presentation will take place on Monday 15 July, where we’ll hand over $80,000 to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service at a special morning tea.

Thank you to all employees who continue to contribute to our Workplace Giving Program—your generosity is creating lasting, local impact.
