Tomago Aluminium employees have once again demonstrated their strong commitment to community support through the annual Dine or Donate initiative, raising $4,775 for Soul Hub during the Christmas period.

Employees who are rostered to work on Christmas Day are given the option to enjoy a hot Christmas lunch provided by our canteen or to forgo their meal and donate the cost instead. First introduced in 2022, the initiative has continued to grow each year, providing support to local organisations assisting people in need.

This year, 96 employees chose to donate their lunch, with all funds directed to Soul Hub to help deliver meals and essential support services to people experiencing homelessness during the festive season.

The donation was formally presented when Soul Hub visited came onsite to collect 20 Christmas hams donated by our workforce. Soul Hub General Manager Matthew Ortiger thanked the workforce for their ongoing generosity:

“Thank you for your continued support of Soul Hub. The generosity shown by the Tomago Aluminium workforce helps us support homeless and vulnerable people in our community. Each week, Soul Hub serves more than 1,000 hot meals and connects people with essential services, including healthcare, accommodation support and recovery programs. We are very grateful for your support.”

In addition, Tomago Aluminium donated a further 20 Christmas hams to OzHarvest to help support families in need across the region. OzHarvest volunteers expressed their appreciation, noting the impact these donations have during the busy holiday period.

Tomago Aluminium thanks all employees who participated in the initiative, as well as those involved in coordinating the program, distributing donations, and supporting logistics. Together, these efforts are helping make a positive difference in the local community during the festive season.
