Well done to CFO Stacey Sleeman, Business Improvement Superintendent Michelle Whyte and Engineers Tom Connell, Lily Wallis and Melissa Wyllie for sharing their career stories and engineering knowledge with Year 11 students from Newcastle Grammar School last week.
The production process, facilities and logistics of the smelter were presented to students, as well as sustainable initiatives and targets required in this energy-dependent industry.
Tomago is delighted to work with the school as a STEM learning partner and is proud to be involved in inspiring the next generation of engineers.
This type of deep learning provides an excellent opportunity for students to hear from industry professionals about the real-world application of what they are learning in class and also gives them a glimpse of the possibilities of career pathways post-school.
