A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

Tomago employs 950 staff (full time equivalent) as well as 190 contractors and is situated just 30 minutes from Newcastle and 45 minutes from Port Stephens. As one of Australasia’s largest Aluminium smelters, operating 24 hours a day since 1983 we pride ourselves on our culture which is both inclusive and performance-driven. We provide all employees with the necessary training and encourage personal development and equal opportunities.

Safety First:

Ensuring that our people are safe while they are at work is one of the main drivers of our business and we have adopted a strong Mates looking after Mates culture to ensure people enjoy time doing what they love with family and friends when they aren’t at work.

Tomago Aluminium has demonstrated its commitment to achieving and maintaining high standards with regards to safety having achieved external recognition through meeting both national and international environmental and safety standards. (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).

Celebrating success:

Our success is thanks to the efforts and contributions of our people and we always encourage and support our staff to think about how we can improve.

We celebrate individual success on a fortnightly basis through our internal newsletter and our TAC News magazine and at our annual Innovation & Excellence Awards, with the overall winner and category winners receiving a significant reward.
