Last week, we hosted 12 students from the University of Newcastle’s Chemical Engineering Society (NUChES) for a tour of our site.
This visit marked the third year we’ve welcomed NUChES students to Tomago Aluminium. As a sponsor of the society, we’re pleased to support experiences that give future engineers a closer look at how their studies apply in industry.
The students, currently studying chemical or renewable engineering, visited the Casthouse, Potlines and Carbon departments – getting a glimpse into the processes and scale involved in aluminium production.
For many, it was a chance to see the types of roles they might move into after graduation.
At Tomago Aluminium, we always enjoy having students onsite and appreciate their curiosity and interest in what we do, and we look forward to hosting the group again next year.
