Tomago Aluminium is gearing up to celebrate a remarkable milestone on September 1st – 40 years of operation!
Alongside this significant company anniversary, the Carbon department has also been celebrating throughout August as last week marked four decades since crafting their first anode.
In the Carbon plant, liquid pitch and petroleum coke are mixed to create carbon anodes, which are an essential part of the aluminium smelting process and form a crucial part of the reaction that transforms alumina into aluminium. Anodes play a crucial role in aluminium production, and the Carbon team’s contributions have been vital in ensuring the success of our smelter.
