Thanks to the contributions from our workforce, and with additional support from the business, our Workplace Giving Program has raised an incredible $150,000 for local charities and community organisations over the past year.

Today, we proudly kicked off our donations by presenting a $17,500 cheque to the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF).

Abbey McDonell, General Manager of HBCF, shared her appreciation:

“We’re incredibly grateful to the employees of Tomago Aluminium for choosing to support HBCF. It’s powerful to see Hunter people helping Hunter people, with this donation directly supporting local individuals and families experiencing breast cancer—many of whom live in the same Newcastle and Lake Macquarie communities as the Tomago team. For a small charity like ours, $17,500 is a significant contribution that will have a real and immediate impact.”

Later this week, we’ll present another $17,500 to Hunter Wildlife Rescue, who care for injured and orphaned native animals across our region. Next week, Soul Hub and Jenny’s Place will each receive donations of the same value to support their vital work in homelessness and domestic violence services. We will also be hosting a special event onsite in July to present $80,000 to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

Michael Kempe, TAC Health, Safety and Environment Manager, attended the HBCF presentation and said:

“We’re extremely proud of the generosity shown through our Workplace Giving Program. Giving back is deeply embedded in our culture at TAC, and this donation is a powerful example of the difference we can make when we come together as a team.”
