Site notice - positive COVID case

Early today we were notified of a positive COVID case involving one of our colleagues onsite.

A Rod Shop tradesman underwent precautionary COVID testing and returned a positive result; he has been on site doing his normal work from Tuesday and began feeling mild symptoms that morning, potentially while infectious. Given he was not onsite Monday, and was only onsite for four hours yesterday, the exposure outside his immediate crew is limited. He didn't have any contact with Operators yesterday morning.

We have been preparing for this moment for almost two years now; that is why we practice our COVID drills. We are now calmly and methodically implementing the plan, commencing with deep cleaning of the affected area, notifying potentially affected employees and arranging testing and isolation. All immediate employees deemed to be at risk have been notified.

Per NSW Health, the risk to fully vaccinated people is low - that is why we have been encouraging people to get vaccinated. Effective immediately, there will be additional controls on site including mandatory mask wearing indoors and in vehicles for everyone. This is a reminder to practice good hand hygiene and cleaning routines.

Our colleague is fully vaccinated with very mild symptoms and he is otherwise feeling well. He was notified by the NSW Health check in App as being a close contact from a hospitality venue on Saturday. We are respecting privacy and will not go into further personal details.

There will be further updates to site as information comes to hand.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Simon Mitchell or myself.
