CONTRACTOR INDUCTIONS

Tomago has two initial levels of inductions for non-Tomago personnel..

  1. Visitor (Level 1) or
  2. Contractor Site Safety Induction (Level 2)

1. Visitors wishing to come onto site must watch the safety video provided by Security. A day pass will then be issued for the day of the visit only. A Tomago Representative must accompany all visitors on site. Visitors are not permitted to carry out any work within production areas or on tasks assessed a having a medium or high risk.
2. Contractor Induction – Allows unescorted access to the General Plant and Business Units non production areas. Does not include access to production areas unless accompanied by Business Unit personnel. Will allow the contractor to perform work in General Plant and Business Unit non production areas. To carry out work on site a contractor must have completed the Contractor Induction.
To arrange a Contractor Induction you are required to:

  • The vendor must contact the Site Contractor Coodinator and arrange for your induction.
  • Inductions are carried out two days a week, Tuesday and Friday at 8:00am.
  • Complete the Contractor Induction Application Form and send to Site Contractor Coodinator
  • You must have read the Contractor EHS Induction Standard ("Induction Book") and be prepared to answer 40 questions selected at random from the document.
  • You are to meet at the main security gate prior to 8am.
  • If you pass the induction you will be presented with a photo ID.

Please note that your period of induction will last for two years but you will only be issued with an ID card for the duration of your contract on site.

For the fifth year, Tomago Aluminium joined with OneSteel to produce a workplace safety campaign. The campaign, called "Safety. My Responsibility. Our Choice" will be supported by a range of on-site activities throughout the year and the safety posters will be distributed to more than 100 businesses in the Hunter region.
