Tomago Aluminium is steadfast in its commitment to environmental issues. In line with this, we are proactive in our initiatives to improve performance and in many instances our results are benchmark achievements.
As part of this, we have one of the most advanced environmental management systems. Additionally, we have implemented a comprehensive environmental monitoring program.
We aim to:
- Minimise our overall environmental footprint;
- Continue to reduce fluoride emissions per tonne of metal produced;
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions per tonne of metal produced;
- Implement and maintain a five-year energy reduction program;
- Implement a five-year waste reduction program and complete development of a recycling process for spent pot linings;
- Reduce water consumption and increase recycling;
- Maintain ISO 14001 certification of our Environmental Management System.
