Supporting the communities that our people live and work in is at the heart of what we do here at Tomago. Our site joins the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens and we are proud to partner with them in a range of projects.
Our staff also give generously from their pay each week through the Out-of-Pay Donation Scheme. Money generated through employee donations is matched by the company dollar-for-dollar and donated to two or four chosen charities each year. For example in 2017 staff & Tomago donated $23,500 to the Mark Hughes Foundation and $23,500 to Variety, the Children's Charity. In 2018, $43,260 was split between The Hunter Melanoma Foundation, Our Backyard, Charlie's Run 4 Kids & Oz Harvest. In September Tomago and our employees also donated $50,000 to Aussie farmers suffering from the drought.
Since its inception, the Out-of Pay Donation Scheme has given away over $1 million to deserving charities.
In addition to the Out-of-pay Donation Scheme, we also give back to the local community and support a number of local charities.
