• Tomago Aluminium is a leading manufacturer of aluminium products, including extrusion billet, rolling slab, and aluminium ingot.
• We are located on Australia’s east coast around 13km north-west of Newcastle in the industrial suburb of Tomago.
• We have around 1200 employees.
• We currently produce 530,000 tonnes of aluminium annually.
• Tomago Aluminium spends $900m annually on materials, supplies and labour in Australia, of which around $500m is spent locally in the Hunter Region alone.
• We represent approximately 25% of Australia’s primary aluminium capacity.

Tomago produces aluminium remelt ingots and tees, extrusion billets and rolling slabs. Most of our products are exported to South East Asia, Japan and China, where they are processed by a variety of manufacturers into end products.

• Most of these end products are recyclable.
• We contribute $1.5b to the Australian economy each year.
• Tomago Aluminium covers 500 hectares, with the plant one-fifth of the area.
• We have three potlines consisting of 280 pots each, with current amperage of 227,000 amps.
• Each year, we process:

  • Coke - 190,000 tonnes
  • Pitch - 45,000 tonnes
