Tomago Aluminium has been part of the Hunter Region for more than 25 years. In those years we have successfully competed in one of the world’s most demanding markets. A joint venture between global companies Rio Tinto Alcan, Gove Aluminium Finance Ltd (CSR and AMP) and Hydro Aluminium, Tomago Aluminium regards due attention to the environment, sustainability, safety, quality and continuous improvement as paramount to being a responsible corporate citizen in the 21st century.

Tomago Aluminium History
Construction on Tomago Aluminium began in 1981. At the time of first production, it was the world’s first large-scale AP18 plant in the world, with two potlines and an annual production capacity of about 240,000 tonnes.
In 1991, the plant was expanded, with a third potline and additional facilities completed and operational in early 1993.
